Welcoming Temi F. Bennett as Director of Policy and Communication

March 12, 2018

Consumer Health Foundation is excited to announce that Temi F. Bennett, Esq., will join our foundation as director of policy and communication on March 13.

Temi will be responsible for engaging local governments in the DC metropolitan region in approaches to develop and implement racially equitable policies that enable communities of color to thrive.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Temi was Legislative Counsel for D.C.’s Ward 5 Councilmember, Kenyan R. McDuffie. At Council, Temi focused on business and economic development, racial equity, and economic justice issues. She also served in Ward 4 Councilmember Brandon T. Todd’s office.

Temi graduated magna cum laude from Virginia State University with a B.A. in English (2005), before receiving her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center (2009). At Georgetown, Temi served as Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of Law & Modern Critical Race Perspectives.

She brings to the Foundation her experience providing strategic legislative and policy recommendations to local policymakers, along with her knowledge of the law and the role that governments have played in creating policies that have disproportionately harmed communities of color.

It is rare to find someone who has both policy experience and a sharp racial equity analysis, and CHF is lucky to have found both in Ms. Bennett.

Best regards,

Yanique Redwood

President and CEO
