Strategic Alliances

CHF strongly believes in forging partnerships and alliances that will leverage knowledge, resources and expertise in support of our mission.

We have entered into a new collaborative partnership with the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation.  Beginning in 2010, CHF will manage the application and grant review process for Meyer’s health and mental health grants and make recommendations to the Meyer staff and board.   The Meyer Foundation and CHF have worked closely together for nearly a decade.  Our work together has included the creation of the Regional Primary Care Coalition (see below) and other collaborative endeavors.  There is considerable overlap in funding priorities and grantees between Meyer and CHF.

We are active members of the Health Working Group of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers (WRAG). This group of local and national funders meets regularly to address critical health issues and challenges in the region.

We are also active participants in the Regional Primary Care Coalition, a collaboration among health funders and primary care coalition leaders working together to advance coordinated systems of community-based health care for low-income residents across the D.C. metro area.

CHF staff also participate in a number of local funding collaboratives, including the Washington AIDS Partnership, the Washington Grantmakers Working Group on Aging, the Washington Area Workforce Development Collaborative, and the Partnership for Prince George’s County. We are also working closely with funding colleagues to coordinate our capacity building programs and activities.
