CHF strongly believes in forging partnerships and alliances that will leverage knowledge, resources and expertise in support of our mission and our community. We engage in partnerships at the regional and national levels.
Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers (WRAG) – Our regional association provides a forum for funders to meet regularly, share information and work together to address key issues and challenges facing our region. We are active in several funder collaborations based at Washington Grantmakers, including:
Washington Area Workforce Development Collaborative – a funding collaborative that focuses its investments on creating career pathways, advocating for effective workforce policies and building the capacity of nonprofits and other providers to deliver strong workforce development programs. This collaborative is based at the Community Foundation of the National Capital Region.
Regional Primary Care Coalition – a collaboration among health funders and primary care coalition leaders working together to advance coordinated systems of community-based primary health care for low-income residents across the D.C. metro area. This collaborative is based at the Consumer Health Foundation.
Partnership for Prince George’s County – a funding collaborative that makes grants to nonprofits in Prince George’s County to build their capacity to effectively serve the community and engage in systemic advocacy efforts. This collaborative is based at the The Community Foundation for Prince George’s County.
Nonprofit Roundtable – a local membership organization dedicated to building the strength, visibility, and influence of the nonprofit community.
Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation “Front Office” Partnership – In 2010 and 2011, CHF managed the application and grant review processes for the Meyer Foundation’s health and mental health grants.
Black Philanthropic Alliance - a network of professionals in philanthropy and nonprofits who identify, manage and influence investments and resources to strengthen and connect the Black community in the Washington, DC region.
Funders Concerned About AIDS – a national organization comprised of and for private philanthropic institutions concerned about, engaged in or potentially active in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Grantmakers for Effective Organizations - a coalition of grantmakers committed to building strong and effective nonprofit organizations.
Grantmakers in Aging – an organization for grantmakers active in the field of aging.
Grantmakers in Health - an organization dedicated to helping foundations and corporate giving programs improve the health of all people.
Mission Investors Exchange – a network of funders dedicated to advancing mission-related investing in philanthropy
National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy – an organization focused on ensuring that philanthropy is focused on the needs of disadvantaged and disenfranchised populations and communities.
Neighborhood Funders Group - membership association of grantmakers who support social justice and social change.
